Call of Duty: World at War Trailer on Xbox LIVE
Xbox.com announced today that the Call of Duty game, Call of Duty: World at War, will be revealed this week on Xbox LIVE. A worldwide reveal trailer for the game will be available only Xbox LIVE Marketplace on June 21.
In a turn back towards tradition for the series, Call of Duty: World at War is set back during WWII - Call of Duty 4: Modern Combat was a detour for the series as it set itself in a contemporary scenario.
The game will benefit from the phenomenal visual engine used to power and create Call of Duty 4.
According to Xbox.com, Call of Duty: World at War ”brings an uncensored edge to combat, as soldiers face the most harrowing and climactic European and Pacific battles in which an enemy, who knows no surrender and no retreat, will fight to the last breath, unleashing an arsenal of lethal surprising tactics.”
Indeed, early reports from the developer have promised that World at War would feature a edgier, grittier dynamic than games in the series past.
World at War will also feature a robust multiplayer component akin to Modern Warfare, with perks and a rewarding ranking system. It will also feature a four-player cooperative mode as well.
