A Kingdom for Keflings: Coming with NXE
Microsoft revealed an XBLA game that was ever so briefly teased during one of its New Xbox Experience (NXE) preview videos. The name of the game is A Kingdom for Keflings, and it will be launching alongside the NXE on November 19th.
According to Microsoft, Keflings integrates the new Avatars being introduced by NXE in a clever way:
“You play a giant. Not just any giant, either. The giant will take on the form of the Avatar you created. With this giant, you supervise the building of a metropolis that starts as a simple village. Order your Keflings around making them chop wood, build, etc. You can even paint your buildings to make them even more ‘yours’.”
Sounds like an interesting premise to be sure, like some sort of cross between Sim City and Black and White. Here are some other “features” being touted by MS:
- The ability to build cities online cooperatively with up to 3 friends
- Stylized animated graphics that change with the seasons and season-based gameplay
- A dynamic-music soundtrack (which adapts to the season and the state of the village
A Kingdom for Keflings will be 800 MS Points. In the meantime, enjoy some screenshots of the games and Avatars in action below.
